About meI am a Certified Life-Cycle Celebrant™
I studied at Algonquin College and St. Paul University but it was taking the Fundamentals, Funerals and End of Life Ceremonies, and the Wedding Ceremonies courses at Celebrant Foundation & Institute that brought me to the work I love - creating ceremonies for important thresholds in people's lives. I am always humbled to hear another's story and to find ways to celebrate and honour those stories. As an ordained Metaphysical Minister with CIMM (Canadian International Metaphysical Ministry) I serve many who may consider themselves "spiritual but not religious". I do not discriminate based on culture, religion, self-identification or sexual orientation. I recognize the Divine in all and that there are many approaches to connecting with that which is greater than us. I encourage honouring our individual stories, recognizing the worth of each person and seeing the value of the many ways one might connect with Source. This connection may be through traditional avenues, meditation, yoga, reading, being in Nature, working with animals and/or soil, study, self reflection and in relationships with others. Metaphysics is a non-traditional approach, and though considered a religion, is spiritual in nature without attempting to have everyone agree to a defined creed. Whatever the occasion for ceremony, I feel it is important that the person(s) is honoured and acknowledged for their own story, wherein lies the story of the Divine. Equally, I feel it is important to come together in community to share our stories, to witness others' stories and to acknowledge our deep relationship with all. With my rigorous training through the Celebrant Foundation & Institute I have the tools and resources to serve your needs in a professional and highly personalized manner. I listen deeply to a person's story and create a ceremony that will reflect them whether it is a Wedding, Anniversary Vow Renewal, Baby/Child Welcoming, Funeral or Celebration of Life. I also facilitate Conscious Aging 8-week programs to encourage those who are aging to live their elder years consciously, remaining engaged with life and being guided by their own compass. I am a volunteer with The Hospice Hub, serving as the bereavement coordinator and facilitate groups and offer bereavement education and events. I am a labyrinth facilitator, and you will find a Wind Phone by my labyrinth - a wonderful tool for the bereaved to call those they love and let the wind take their words. I have been a Roots of Empathy Facilitator and have volunteered for various organizations including Waupoos Foundation which provides holidays for families who would not otherwise be able to have a summer vacation. |
